Debra K. Tverberg, 63, Thompson, ND, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at her home in Thompson.
Debra Kay Ricke was born July 30, 1955 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Raymond and Maxine (Holweger) Ricke. She was raised and attended schools in Grand Forks. Debra worked for area farmers and then for Wal-Mart for several years. She worked for Grand Forks Public Schools and then for many years as a custodian at United Hospital which later became Altru Health System.
Debra enjoyed a multitude of arts and crafts, gardening and motorcycle rides. She had a lifelong love of animals, wildlife and spending time at the family farm outside of Erskine, MN.
Debra married Jim Tverberg on April 14, 1984 at Calvary Lutheran church. He survives along with son, Wayne Tverberg, Robinsdale, MN; daughters, Jamie Tverberg, Ashley Tverberg and Amber Tverberg, all of Grand Forks, ND; a granddaughter, Lydia and many other close family and dear friends.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters, Linda Ricke, Cindy Shadursky; and a brother, Gary Ricke.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 1, 2019 at Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks. Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.
