Carlo was the owner and operator of the former CD Sheet Metal and Roofing in Providence for over 30 years. He also was employed by General Dynamics and Electric Boat for over 20 years before retiring. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed mushrooming and quahogging. He was known as being a practical jokester, famously for his rubber mouse. Carlo was an inventor and a handyman who could fix anything. He could be considered the "original recycler."
He is survived by his loving children, Joseph C. DiPietro, Donna (James) Pepe, Sheril (Michael ) Carbone, Sandra (Robert) Pescarino, and Carla (Russell) Campanelli; eleven cherished grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of Carmino DiPietro, Marguerite Garrahy, Annette Thibodeau, Theresa D'Ordine, and the late Salvatore DiPietro, Pasqualina Caliri, and Joseph F. DiPietro, who died in the Korean War.
Funeral from the Nardolillo Funeral Home, Inc. & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
