Lois Ludene Trammel was born December 14, 1937, in the Fair Grove Community of Birch Tree, Missouri, the third daughter of Faye and Clyde Trammel. She departed this life on March 2, 2019, at the age of eighty-one years. She attended elementary school at Fair Grove and Oak Grove one-room schools before graduating from Birch Tree High School in 1955.

Lois was married to Glen O. Bockman at Oak Grove Church on June 26, 1955. To this union, five children were born.

She was a homemaker and mother, first and foremost. She began her career with the United States Postal Service as a highway contractor delivering mail to Thomasville, Missouri from 1964 to 1970. She then became a clerk in the Birch Tree Post Office. She was appointed to the postmaster position in 1978 and filled that position until her retirement in October 1982.

Lois was saved and baptized in the Oak Grove Baptist Church, where later she served as both treasurer and pianist. She was active in many community projects. She loved cooking, singing and playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Bockman; her parents, Clyde and Faye Trammel; two sisters, Loretta Tucker and Peggy, who died in infancy; and son-in-law Jack Forbes, Jr.

Lois is survived by her five children, Jeffrey Bockman and wife Suzanne of Birch Tree, MO, Tina Asplin and husband Bruce of Birch Tree, MO, Lisa Bockman-Arata and husband John of Prescott, AZ, Brian Bockman of New Orleans, LA, and Marshall Bockman and wife Kathryn of Bonne Terre, MO; six grandchildren, Skyler Bockman and wife Michelle, Judge Bockman and wife Kathryn, McKenna Madche and husband Jacob, Justin Asplin and wife Jennifer, Meagan Kile and husband Matt, and Grant Bockman; six great-grandchildren, Harper and Hattie Bockman, Cloey and Grady Asplin, and Sophie and Sadie Kile; three sisters, Doris Goodman of KY, Sheila North of Strafford, MO, and Sharon Clark of St. Louis, MO; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in Yarber Mortuary chapel, Birch Tree, Missouri with Rev. Joel Hines officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-1:00 p.m. prior to services, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Birch Tree. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation 1001 E. 101st Terrace, Suite 220, Kansas City, MO 64131.
