Mrs. Priscilla Smith dies, funeral services Saturday(Thur. 2-2- 1962)
Mrs. Priscilla Smith, 85, of 2103 8th street, died Wednesday night at Lutheran hospital after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Methodist church with the Rev. Henry C. Beatty, Th. D. pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Columbus cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 1, 1877, at Richland the daughter of John D. and Mathilda Marohn Keller. She was educated in District 23 school in Colfax County. On July 3, 1894, she married Henry Martin Smith at the home of his sister in
North Bend.
The family moved from Colfax County to Columbus in 1913. Mrs. Smith, besides being a housewife, was a nurse for 15 years. Mr. and Mrs. Smith celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on July 3, 1944.
Surviving are two sons, Elmer of Columbus and Everett J. Denver, Colorado; four daughters, Mrs. A. E. (Mayme) Schram of Monroe, Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Lusche of Columbus, Mrs. J. N. (Susan) Speicher of Columbus, and Mrs. William (Esther)
Campbell of Columbus; a niece, Mrs. James Nichols of Ft. Meade, Maryland, that she raised; eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Keller of Schuyler and Henry J. Keller of Columbus; a twin sister, Mrs. Jacob (Lydia) Smith of Columbus; and two sisters , Mrs. Ray (Tidy) Mentzer of Schuyler and Mrs. Joe (Nettie) Salak of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 4, 1954, one grandchild, two brothers and four sisters.
