Carl was a retired Postman from the Sparta Post Office, was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict (1951 - 1955). Carl was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Sparta; Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Lourdes Council #6577, Sparta; and American Legion Post #396, Sparta. He loved watching Chicago Bears Football, St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Sports - he never missed a sporting event!
Carl is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Mae Beattie; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Harold and Elizabeth Stork; sister, Vera and Mel McDonald and granddaughter Ashley Campbell.
