Jack J. Fleet, Jr. passed away on September 15, 2017 surrounded by his family. Jack honorably served in the United States Navy for 26 years during which he served in World War II, the Korean War, the Invasion of Lebanon, and the Vietnam War. Life after the Navy began a second career of service with the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs as well as a Department Service Officer with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife, Burta June ‘Missy’ Fleet of Wichita; three children, Cathy Schiffiano (Jerry), Mark Fleet (Debbie) and Carla Davis, all of Wichita; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the U.S.; and his niece, Barbara Polixa (Dave) of New Jersey; many other family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Crosswinds Community Church, 208 North Georgie Avenue, Derby, Kansas at 2:00 p.m on Friday, September 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VFW Post 112, 1560 S. Topeka St., Wichita, KS 67211 where Jack was a lifetime member. Militaray Honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy Color Guard and the V.F.W.3115 and Patriot Guard. Baker Funeral Home Valley Center is handling arrangements.
