She was born in Reynoldsville, WV, on June 24, 1939, the daughter of the late Wayman Earl and Hattie Blanche (Shaver) Bramer.
Geraldine was a graduate of Wallace High School and the last surviving member of her family of 11 children. Mrs. Edgell was a homemaker and a member of The Lighthouse Church of God in Smithfield. She loved the Lord and her church family. Geraldine also enjoyed cooking and helping her neighbors.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Clifford Dwight Edgell; four brothers, Robert Warren, Buddie Norman, Earl Jr. and George W. Bramer; six sisters, Lorainne Bramer, Vivian Winona Bramer, Velma Bramer, Norma June Bramer, Juanita Walls and Shirley Bramer Ash and one brother-in-law, Donald E. Ash.
Those left behind to cherish Geraldine’s memory include her daughter, Debra Lynn Edgell; three nephews, Steve Bramer and his wife, Becky, Tommy Ash and James L. Walls; six nieces, Jeanie Ash, Evelyn (Ash) Cutright and her husband, Bob, Denise Dye, Linda Tetrick and her husband, Dave, Cathy Stout and Rebecca Faul; a special great-nephew, Chris Godfrey, his companion, Hope and their son, Hunter; a special great-niece, Antoinette Kunka and several other great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, on Sunday, March 10, 2019, from 2-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 South Pike St., Shinnston, on Monday, March 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Keith Swiger officiating. Interment will follow at the Wallace Lions Cemetery.
