Ernest “Ernie” Leslie Swinford, 72, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his home after a long illness. Born August 4th, 1946 in Berea to the late Clyde and Willetta Childress Swinford, he worked at Parker – Hannifin for 33 years and 10 years at AGC Flat Glass North America. Ernie graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1964 and attended Eastern Kentucky University for a couple of years. A United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era he also spent time in the Army Reserve as an MP. Ernie was a huge, proud member of the Big Blue Nation and also enjoyed golfing, crosswords and fishing. He married October 17, 1998 to Debra Jane Duerson – Swinford, and was of the Baptist faith.

Along with his wife Debbie, he is survived by a daughter, Stacy Sandlin (Shawn); brother Larry Edward Swinford; grandson Tyler Sandlin. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, with the Funeral following at 1:00 PM also at the Reppert Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Browning is officiating the service with burial at the Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Shawn Sandlin, Tyler Sandlin, Joe Stanley, Darrell Swinford, Daniel Duerson and Nathan Leonesio.
