Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Dees Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Mattie Varnado, 59, formerly of Perkinston, who died Sunday at Stone County Hospital. Rev. W. R. Dement was the officiating minister.
Burial was in Perkinston Cemetery with Dees Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Survivors are her husband, Charles J. Varnado of Gulfport, three sisters, Miss Annie Mae Alexander of Meridian, Mrs. Ruby Lee Ethridge of Hattiesburg and Mrs. Helen Landon of Bay St. Louis; two brothers, A. W. Alexander of Gulfport and A. C. Alexander of San Diego, Calif.; one niece, Cindy Alexander of Wiggins and one nephew, Michael C. Alexander of Mobile.
Pallbearers were L. V Murray, Albert Cuave, Delmar D'Olive, Carl Rath, Elton Roberson and James L. Davis .
