MARY ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY
AGE 86 YEARS
Mary Elizabeth (Tutty) Montgomery, South Williamsport, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at AristaCare at Loyalsock. Mary was born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Williamsport, and was the daughter of the late James L. and Veronica J. Borowski Bender.
Mary married Ernest E. Montgomery on Aug. 9, 1952 and shared 67 years of marriage. She worked for the Williamsport School District for 28 years and retired in 1997. She enjoyed playing cards, volunteering at the CAC, camping, being active in St. Boniface Church and most of all enjoyed being with family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, Ernest, are three sons, David E. (Deborah) Montgomery, of Wilmington, N.C.; Stephen J. Montgomery, of Jersey Shore; Robert L. (Elizabeth) Montgomery, of Montoursville; three daughters, Susan M. Montgomery, of Williamsport, Cinthia A. (Shawn) Gardner, of Montoursville, and Amy L. Montgomery, of Loyalsock Township; a brother, Stephen Bender, of Montoursville; a sister, Annette Entz, of Montoursville; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Thomas F. Montgomery, on Oct. 31, 2012; a brother, James"Sonny" Bender; a sister, Patricia Bender; and by a grandson, Aaron P. Montgomery.
Interment: St. Boniface Church Cemetery.
