Nicholas "Nick" Andrews, age 71, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 8, 2019.
Nick served in the US Army during a tour in Germany and was a member of the American Legion Post #21. He retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Survey and Design after 44 years of service. He was a member of Ebbing and Flowing Springs United Methodist Church, where he held several offices throughout the years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, fishing/duck hunting. He was a kind, gentle man who reached out helping many through the years. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather to all those lucky enough to have known him.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Ada Lee Andrews and his brother Mike Andrews.
Nick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vickie; daughter, Janie Lee (Keith) Hughes; son, Timothy "Tim" (Rachel) Andrews; granddaughters (his pride and ever joy), Kaitlin Hughes, Laura and Emily Andrews; sister, Annette (James) DeBord; brothers, Richard (Rosemary) Andrews, C. D. (Margaret) Andrews; mother-in-law, Phyllis Goddard; sister-in-law, Paula Laws; aunt, Joan Moore; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville. Funeral services will follow with Pastors Fred Dimond and Steve Rogers officiating. Vickie Bennett will provide music.
Joel Jeffers, Byron Almaran, Donnie Williams, Chris Singleton, David Sams, and Andy Hensley will be serving as pallbearers. Jim Turnmire, Rick Goodson, Bill Simmons, Tonk McBrayer, Dana Fields, Ronnie Coulter, and Larry Elkins Will be Honorary Pallbearers.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff of the VA hospital and Smokey Mountain Hospice, for the excellent care given to Nick and (Ms. Hannah) and his church family.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Ebbing and Flowing Springs Church, Doug Kirkpatrick, 630 Vista Drive, Rogersville, TN 37857.
