On Monday March 11th Doris Albright Barber, 82, of West Coxsackie passed away quietly at home while surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born in Catskill, New York, the Daughter of Ralph L. and Laura Cary Albright. She is survived by daughter Susan O’Connor and husband Edward, grandchildren Jeffrey, Gregory and Carrie O’Connor, daughter Jill Koonz and husband David, grandchildren Matthew (Kristy), Timothy and Laura (Stephen) Murphy and great grand-children Isabella O’Connor and Joshua Murphy. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband of 64 years, Glenn, sister Janet LeJeune Albright and brother Howard Albright. As a lifetime homemaker and member of the Reformed Church of America, Doris sang in the choir for 55 years, was past president of The Reformed Church Women’s Guild, organized and served church suppers and taught Sunday School in her youth. Her greatest joy in life was helping others and sharing in the joy of her family. Crossword puzzles were her favorite evening pastime. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 16th at The Second Reformed Church, 16 Washington Avenue, Coxsackie from 10:00-11:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to a luncheon and time of fellowship in the church hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornell Hook and Ladder Fire Company, PO Box 400, New Baltimore, NY 12124 or The Community Hospice, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414.
