US Congressman. He was active in the agricultural business and founded "The Golden Age" magazine at Atlanta, Georgia in 1906. In 1919 he was elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-sixth and to the three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1927. Not a candidate for renomination, he moved to California, pursued as a lecturer, evangelist and was vice president of the Linda Vista Baptist Bible College and Seminary in San Diego. In 1939, he was ordained a minister of the Baptist Church and remained in service of the church until his death.
