(1910 - 2005)

Elizabeth A. Schneider, age 94, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, Oct. 20, 2005, at Shady Lane with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 3, 1910, in the township of Cato, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Charles J. and Mary Ann O'Connell Logan. Elizabeth attended St. Patrick Grade School, Maple Grove, and Reedsville High School. She also attended Holy Family School of Nursing. On April 17, 1933, she married Harold L. Schneider in Madison. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in April 1983. Harold preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1987. Elizabeth was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Secular Order of St. Francis, and St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo Blvd.

Survivors include four children and their spouses: Gaenell and Richard Medina, Manitowoc; Bud (Harold J.) and Carol Schneider, Waukesha; Jeanne and Richard Metzger, Manitowoc; Robert and Cindy Schneider, Manitowoc; a daughter-in-law: Mrs. Pat Gilbert, Two Rivers; 18 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren: Richie (Heather) Schneider and children: Joe, Cassandra, Mayia and Kayla; Sue Lockwood and children: Kyle and Kori; Kelly (Corey) Kornely and children: Dayle and Dylan; Teresa Medina and children: Chelsea and Tony Dehne; Dan Medina; Cris (Bret) Argenbright and children: Audrey and Sean; Mike (Suzanne) Medina; Todd (Bari Berman) Schneider and children: Hannah and Natalie; Jennifer (Paul) Paluch and son: Justin; Jeremy (Leah) Schneider and daughter: Chloe; Brian (Erin) Schneider and son: Bryce; Renee (Ron) Jacobson and children: Andrew, Clarice and Camille; Ryan (Tiffany) Metzger and daughter: Emma; Craig Schneider; Bridget (Nathan) Hebert and daughter: Hailey; Crystal Schneider. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was also preceded in death by a son: J. Roger Schneider in 1980; and two grandchildren: Lisa Marie Schneider and Rick J. Metzger.

Elizabeth was the last surviving member of the Logan family, which consisted of five brothers and four sisters: James (Maybelle) Logan; Jack Logan; Charles Logan; Joe (Charlotte) Logan; Bud (Harold) Logan; Florence (Louie) Meyer; Jessie (Albert) Burkart; Mary (Fred) Rappel; and Alyce (Elmer) Glishmann.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. led by Deacon Ken Nelesen. The visitation will continue Monday afternoon, Oct. 24, 2005, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. John Schuetze with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.

We wish to thank all the nurses and staff at Shady Lane Home, especially 3rd floor, for being so kind and loving to our mother and family.
