Mrs. Catherine Martin, 86, Ellis Grove, died in St. Clement's Hospital in Red Bud Sunday. She was a lifelong Ellis Grove resident. She was married to John Fink, who died in 1920. She was later married to Ben Martin, who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Martin leaves half-brothers Charles, Henry, John George Arthur and Frank Kempfer, half-sisters Mrs. Nellie Stirnamen, Mrs. Josie Caudle and Mrs. Ruth Peters, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ft. Gage. Friends may call at the Mathew Funeral Home in Evansville until services Wednesday at 9 a. m. St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Father Sense officiating. Burial will in Ellis Grove Cemetery.

According to the McCathy and Ruroede Ancestry written by Kerry McCarty, Catherine Stipe married John Fink in 1892 at the Kaskaskia Catholic Church. John and Catherine (Stipe) Fink were both buried in the Ellis Grove Cemetery. Information obtained from Randolph County Genealogical Society "The Trails", Vol. 23, No. 2, page 50.
