Charles was the first born child to George Washington Hart and Amanda Jane Stice Hart. Charles married Clara Elizabeth McKenney on the 13th of November 1879 in Clark co, Washington. Charles and Clara had two daughters, Jessie Orilla (married Allan Kerslake) and Elizabeth "Libby". In summer of 1879 Charles became ill (family story is TB) and in September was taken by train to Wilber, Oregon to live with his parents. He died at his sister, Adaline's home surrounded by friends and family. He was buried in the Old Town Cemetery.
