Marianne Elizabeth Herx, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Adams Street Place.

She was born September 5, 1933, in Kibbie, Illinois, the daughter of the late Herbert Kendall and Theora (Randolph) Russell.

She was united in marriage on May 18, 1973, to Joseph Lee Herx in Jefferson City who survives at the home.

Marianne retired in 1986 after working nineteen years as a Floor Supervisor for Scholastic, Inc.

She loved to garden, was an avid reader and was well known for her deviled eggs.

Other survivors include a son, Ronald J. Goff and his special friend, Michelle Missey and her daughter, Hallie Boulch, all of Steelville, Mo; two step daughters, Sherri (Tim) LePage, Lohman; and Bev (Ron) Backers, Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Tony (Erin) LePage; Travis Backers; Ashley (Justin) Raithel; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bev Russell, Phoenix, AZ.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Rosalie Cooner; a grandson, Tyler LePage; and a great-grandson, Tristan Backers.

A private service will be held at a later time.
