Don Mackie Howe, born on September 30, 1951 in Pensacola, FL was the son of Cecil Charles and Margaret Pauline Howe. He was the youngest of five brothers; Willard Loran Bethune, Nelson Howard Bethune, John Allen Bethune and Charles Cecil Howe. As a young child he lived between Pensacola and Tavares, FL until he joined the U. S. Navy. Wanting to fulfill a commitment of completing 20 years, he did just that. He had a passion for flying as a Petty Officer 1st Class Aviation electrician. He always dreamed of being a truck driver. He enjoyed going fishing, scuba diving, water skiing and camping. He had a great humor about him, he could tell jokes for hours. He had a kind and caring heart. He would help anybody, including strangers. Those lucky enough to have met this man knew that he would talk to a stranger just as he would a friend. He had wisdom, you just had to stop long enough to listen to what he was saying to understand his reasoning.
