Bainbridge and Susannah Taylor Bainbridge. After the death of his mother, James and his sister, Eliza, went to live with their maternal uncle Ira S. Taylor and his wife Catherine "Kate" Ellis Taylor. He and his wife, Mary Jane Riley Bainbridge, were married 23 Aug 1856 in Clinton Co., Ohio. They were the parents of 9 Children.
