Doris June Rankin went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 3, 2019. She was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on June 17, 1931 to the late Roy & Eula Niswonger.

She was educated in the Jackson school system where she developed a love for teaching, music and art.

She married Charles Rankin in 1948 and they eventually settled in Oregon. Doris raised 4 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, daughter Darlene and son Charles. She is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she was very proud of.

She loved the Lord with all her heart; she was strong in her faith and was a mighty prayer warrior. She traveled around the United States with prison ministries and worked with homeless. She had a heart for all people and led many of them to the Lord. She also worked in youth ministry at Peoples Church and enjoyed being a junior high camp counselor.

She grew up in the country and remained a country girl at heart her whole life. She was musical and bought her first accordion at age 13. She was a talented Christian singer and grew up singing in church. Mom was creative and enjoyed painting, she was witty, super funny, and loved to go on long country rides. If she found a garage sale, that was a bonus. She found joy in simple things and loved to spend time with her kids, grand kids, and great grand kids. Mom was full of wisdom and always had a story to share.

She was loved by many and touched the lives of thousands. Sunday was always her favorite day of the week – how fitting her final day was on a Sunday.

Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
