John B. Humphreys, 91, formerly of Tibbitts Rd., passed away June 6, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born in New Hartford on the family farm on April 28, 1916, a son of the late Hugh and Jane Jones Humphreys and received his education in New Hartford schools. In 1943, John was married to the former Marion Casler. She passed away in 1977. On July 17, 1982, he was married to Estella Crawford. Estella passed away in 2004. John's entire working career was with the family business, Humphreys Farms in New Hartford, where he became well-known in the potato business all along the East Coast. His memberships included the Paris United Church of Christ, the Clinton Grange, the Oneida County Farm Bureau, the Oneida County Cooperative Extension, Regional Market Director for over 25 years and was on the New Hartford Planning Board for 14 years. John was also a 68-year member of Amicable Lodge #664 F&AM and on May 21, 2002 was presented with the Grand Lodge of the State of New York's Dedicated Service Award.
