Lowell was killed in action in The Phillipines March 19, 1945 his father was Oscar Best and mother Bertha GalBreath Best- ( she was killed in auto accident in 1925 with an unborn child within her.)

Lowell was brother to a Golda Inez Best 1899( my blood maternal grandmother), Lela Macle Best 1900, Carmine Kathleen Best 1902, Flossie May Best 1905, Rosalind Modena Best 1907, Franklin Edwin Best-1910, Ruth Eleanor Best 1913, Thelma Bernice Best 1915, Mark Ernest Best 1917, Wanda Clorene Best 1920, and Zella Onita Best 1924, most listed here at present date of Jan 26, 2009 are all listed somewhere on Find a grave. The only living is Zella.

This has great meaning for me, as i was born to Golda's daughter Bertha Sue Schofield, and placed up for adoption before I was born. I have FAG to thank, and Bettie Wheat of Wayne county for her book called Best of Best's!
