Robert Grandson Robertson was born on May 25, 1867 in Neptune, Tennessee, the son of William L Robertson (12 Jul 1836-1905) and Fredonia Prusia (Denny) Robertson (1836-1901).
He was married 1st on November 23, 1898 in Cheatham County to Rilla Elizabeth Huff (1877-1912), the daughter of Lucian Huff (ca 1832– ) and Lucia A ( -- ) Huff (ca 1836– ). Robert was married 2nd on September 25, 1918 in Smith County to Callie Belle McKee (ca 1883-1939), the daughter of James P McKee (ca 1854- ) and Jennie ( -- ) McKee (ca 1850- ). {Callie Belle's Death Certificate has her buried somewhere in Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee.} And, Robert was married 3rd as the 2nd husband of Dora Louise (Pitcock) Robertson (1880-1953).
A lock master on the Cumberland River -employed by the US engineers for 30 years - Robert retired about 1932. Living at 203 South 4th Street in Nashville, he was 81 years old and married to Dora when he died of a coronary thrombosis on August 20, 1948 at Nashville's Central State Hospital, where he had been for 5½ months.
Survivors includes his wife Dora, son Ward Robertson of Nashville and daughter Mrs J E McCormack of Mount Pleasant.
Funeral Services were held at Neptune Methodist Church on August 21st, followed with burial in [Neptune-]Smith Cemetery in Cheatham County.
