Robert Charles Kucher was born on October 10th, 1929, to Elsie and John Kucher in Seattle, WA. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 24th, 2007 with "Precious", his dog, at his side.

After studying at the University of Washington, Robert served in the armed forces during the Korean War and then joined his father at Olympic Foundry Company as the third generation of managers since its establishment in 1900.

Robert married Karol Kennedy in 1953 and they raised six children, numerous dogs, cats and a parrot. Robert loved to entertain, to travel, to play bridge with friends and to spend time with his children and grandchildren. For twenty years, Robert entertained family and friends in Sayulita, Mexico as well as conducting his annual Famous Fourth of July Picnics and St. Patrick's Day parties. Robert was a member of The Seattle Tennis Club, The Seattle Yacht Club, The Young Presidents Organization and The American Foundryman Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Karol.

He is survived by his children John (Tina Jacobsen), Kathryn (Donn) Etherington, Suzanne (Juan) Sanchez, Charlie (Dena Bauchman), Mary Jane (Don) Foley, and Heidi (Mark) Pray, five grandchildren.

A private family service was held in his honor at the Seattle Yacht Club and ended with a cannon shot from an Olympic Foundry cannon. Robert touched our lives in so many ways. His spirit will live on in our hearts and he will be missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.
