Jeremy Richman founded and served as the CEO of The Avielle Foundation, named after his daughter Avielle Richman, one of the 20 children killed along with six adults on Dec. 14, 2012. The foundation is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization that according to its website is in part dedicated to helping people "learn more about how you can help to prevent violence and build compassion in your home and community."Dr Jeremy Richman 49 husband of Jennifer Hensel and Father of Sandy Hook massacre victim Avielle was found dead in his office in Edmond Connecticut of apparent suicide.

Dr Richman was a neuropharmacologist and a mental health advocate who along with his wife founded and ran The Avielle Richman Foundation a violence prevention charity after his daughter was killed.
Prior to her death he worked as a researcher at pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim.

Jeremy was born and raised in Boulder Colorado. Jeremy and Jennifer also had two more children after their daughters death.Jeremy died of suicide at Edmond Town Hall, where he had an office.

Jeremy lost his daughter to Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.

Jeremy was a well-known, well-spoken advocate of mental health and some of the issues surrounding Sandy Hook shooting.
