GEORGETOWN — Jessica Kay Stanton's life was taken abruptly at 4:02 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2007.

Jessica was 18 years young, born on July 27, 1988, the daughter of Jim and Kim (Delp) Stanton. She resided with her family in Georgetown.

She left behind: her parents; her sisters, Ami Stanton of Chicago and Amanda Stanton at home; her maternal grandparents, Chester (Gloria) Delp of Cayuga, Ind., and Wanda (Dale) Deck of Danville; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Linda Stanton of Danville and Cathy Etchison of Westville; her paternal great-grandmother, Beverly Baughman of Danville; her uncle, Chet (Gayle) Delp of Chicago; her aunt, Darla (Jeff) Hill of Michigan; her aunts and uncles, David (Leah) Stanton of Indianapolis, Keith (Pearl) Baughman of Danville, Lacey Etchison of Danville and Ashley Bonebrake of Danville; as well as many cousins who were very special to her. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Chester Delp Sr.; her great-grandmother, Thelma Delp; her paternal great-grandfather, Keith Baughman; her great-aunt, Mary Delp; and her uncle, Jeff Delp.

Jessie was vibrant and full of life with a beautiful smile to light up the night sky. She was a health enthusiast and loved exercising, walking, shopping and eating at La Potosina. Even more, she cherished her time with friends and family. Part of Jessie's beauty was her zest for life, learning and discovering new things, as well as her eagerness to continually discover and experience something new. Jessie was employed by Jeannie Hayes State Farm Insurance and was furthering her education through classes at Danville Area Community College.

A celebration of Jessie's life will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, at First Church of Christ, 503 N. Main St., Georgetown. A gathering of family and friends will be 3-7 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2007, at the church, also. Steve Rutter will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorials may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society — Breast Cancer Research, 2509 S. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
