Funeral to Be Held From Lutheran Church, Bryant, Friday Afternoon

John A. Lowe (Lough), 71, pioneer resident of the county, who has spent practically all of his life in Bryant, died at his home there Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock,following an illness with stomach trouble.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Lutheran church at Bryant, with Rev. W.M. Mc Michaels in charge of the rites. Interment will be made in Gravel Hill cemetery.

The decedent was born in Ohio, on April 2, 1848. He was united in marriage to Nancy S. Merrill (Murrell), deceased, on January 14, 1869. His wife proceeded him in death in 1911.

Mr. Lowe was a veteran of the Civil War, having been a member of Company E, 29th Ohio Volunteers. He enlisted August 23, 1864 and was mustered out of service July 13,1865.

The following children survive him: James Lowe, of Muncie; Mrs. Jennie Hilton,(Hutton) of Cloverdale,Ohio; Robert Lowe, of Geneva, and Frank Lowe, of Decatur. One daughter, Luella, died in 1902. Two brothers Henry and Elijah, of Frankfort, Ind. also survive him. Portland Commercial 26 Nov 1919
