SPRINGFIELD - Mary Ellen Taylor of Springfield died June 6 of age-related causes at age 85. A celebration of life will be later.
She was born July 29, 1921, in Sterling, Okla., to Allen and Muriel DeShea Ballard. She married LeVaughn Taylor on Aug. 23, 1938, in Elgin, Okla.
She worked in retail sales in a mercantile store.
Survivors include a son, Ray of Springfield; a sister, Mae Matlock of Kerman, Calif.; a brother, Allen Ballard Jr., also of Kerman; and six grandchildren. Her husband died in 1991 and a son, Charles, died in 1939.
Inurnment will be in Fletcher Cemetery in Fletcher, Okla. Arrangements by Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.
