Darren Lee Hammer,24 years young went to be with the Lord, June 8th, 2007 at 4:02 am. Darren was born to Mike Hammer of georgetown and Sharon Kay Vice of Ridge Farm on January 5th, 1983. Darren was into doing body work on cars or messing with anything that had an engine with his brother-in-law Tony Lee,his nephew Anthony Jr. and with his friends, he also loved Dale Ernhart #3. He enjoyed fishing with his nephew Kenneth and little cousin Dylan. He loved wrestling with his nephews Travis, Ty,& Trenton Martin, and Brandon Crook and playing ball with his nephews Leland,& Joey Lee. He was even close with his nieces Tasha(she is due to have her first child/daughter in July of 2007.) & Tia Martin,Amanda Crook , Jessica Kay Werhan.He taught Amanda how to drive his 2006 GTO stick shift!! His youngest niece, Crystiana Kay Elli Lee was only 7 months old when Darren died, but they loved eachother so much, everytime he entered the room Chrissy Kay would smile and scream with delight at him and Darren would smile really big and start talking to her, they shared a special bond. Darren had a big soft heart and respect/manners. He was kind to everyone he met.He was always willing to help anyone. He loved walking his dog Nova. Unfortunately Darren didn't have any children, he did say if he ever had a son he would name him Dallas and his daughter would be Elizabeth Kay. Darren left behind his mother Sharon Vice of Ridge Farm, il, his brother Tony (Tara) Martin,of Danville, illinois and his sisters Carrie (Adam) Crook,Dewitt,il, Amanda (Bryce) Werhan,Centriala,Mo. & Crystal (Tony) Lee, of Ridge Farm, il, also his maternal grandmother Elizabeth Ann Vice. He also left behind several aunts, uncles,cousins, and friends. He left behind two very special cousins Lance Vice of ridge farm and Brock of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Henry & Molly Hammer, maternal grandfather William Vice, two Uncles, Raymond & Bill Vice, a cousin Douglas Miles, a brother David Hammer, and a nephew Britt Douglas Martin. Darren will forever be missed and loved.We do not know what happened in those last few moments of Darren's life, but we do know who he was while he was with us and no matter what, we know our heavenly father,God has welcomed Darren home..
