Jacquie passed away quietly, in her sleep, at her quinta in the beautiful forested hills outside of Intiyaco, Cordoba, Argentina. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she spent her growing-up years. She met her husband, Reece Mitchell, at York College, in York, Nebraska. After both graduating from York they finished up their formal education at Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. Jacquie graduated as a nurse and Reece with a master's degree in Bible and Greek. After graduation they spent a few years in Billings, Montana, where Reece preached for the Central Church of Christ. In December 1973 they moved to Argentina where they would spend the rest of their lives on this earth. After Reece's death in 1999, Jacquie moved from the greater Buenos Aires area to her beloved property in the Argentine state of Cordoba.
She is remembered as a caring nurse, committed teacher and passionate missionary. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, needlework, canning and making jams as well as caring for every living creature that came her way! She is remembered as having a gift for hospitality and especially enjoyed having her family and friends visit her home in Argentina.

A well-attended celebration of her life was held on Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2019, at the church in Caballito, Buenos Aires, a congregation that Jacquie and her husband had helped establish and develop in the 1980s and 90s. Many of the local residents remembered fondly the ministry and life of the Mitchells.

A second celebration of her life was held on May 18, 2019, at her parents' home church in Rogers, Arkansas, with congregational singing and participation by several of the family friends and/or members of her immediate and extended family participating.

Jacquie's ashes were spread at the Rio de la Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina by her family at a later date.
