Phillip Joe Edwards, of Norman, OK, passed away March 31, 2019 at the age of 55. He was born May 7, 1963 in Eureka, Kansas, to Sam Joe & Ruth Rosalie (Hasty) Edwards. Phillip worked at Belger Cartage O.T.C.E. for 33 years as a crane mechanic. He was an avid OU fan. He fought a courageous battle, but ultimately won the battle because he is in Heaven. He enjoyed smoking meats and feeding people. Phillip also enjoyed building things and taking care of anything that needed fixing, especially automotive needs. Phillip loved his family – as long as they were around, he was happy. He was an outdoorsman and loved spending time in his man cave. Phillip loved the Arbuckle Mountains, Sulphur and camping. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Edwards; 3 sons, Benjamin Joseph, Sean Phillip & wife, Sarah and Samuel Lynn & wife, Kamber; 3 grandchildren, Journee, Jynsen and Tucker; 4 siblings, Nancy Summers & husband, Mike, Larry Edwards, Sam Joe Edwards, Jr. and Ann Cravins; and a host of other loving family members and friends. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Joe & Ruth Rosalie Edwards; and 4 siblings, Carolyn Crook, Robert Edwards, Dan Edwards & Mike Edwards. Visitation will be held from 10am-9pm, Wednesday, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, located at 313 SW 79th St., in Oklahoma City. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur, Oklahoma. In honor of Phillip, the family will be wearing OU attire, and without obligation, invite you to participate. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
