Officer Nathan Seidenberg was killed when his patrol car was struck by a drunk driver on US Highway 101. The other driver, who was also killed in the crash, was driving in the wrong lane and struck him head-on. Officer Seidenberg had served with the agency for 2 years. He was survived by his wife and 2 children.

Officer Seidenberg was traveling on U.S. Highway 101, near San Rafael when a drunk driver crossed into his traffic lane and struck his patrol car head-on. Both the errant drunk driver and Officer Seidenberg were killed instantly.

Officer Seidenberg graduated from the Highway Patrol Academy in 1969 and was assigned to the Marin-Golden Gate Bridge Area office. He had been a member of the CHP for 2 years.

Officer Seidenberg was 26 years old.
