The community was terribly shocked last Wednesday just before noon to hear of the death by accidental shooting of little Margaret Baker at the Fred Baker home southwest of town. The child was killed instantly by the discharge of a gun in the hands of her older sister, Mildred. The shot blew away much of her brain and of course little Margaret's life went out at once. The parents were both from home, the mother was in Garland and was notified and returned home at once. Margaret being a little past eight years of age and was a sweet little Christian child. Mildred of course did not realize the danger in pointing a loaded gun and pulling the trigger at the head of her little sister. the funeral was held at the home on Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev Silas Huddleston and the little body was laid to rest in the Tweedy Cemetery which is near the Fred Baker home. This entire community is in great sorrow over the tragic death to this dear child. A large crowd were present at the funeral and there were many flowers given. the spot where little Margaret now lies in the Tweedy cemetery will be very sacred to the hearts and minds of this dear family. Many prayers went up to God, dear ones, for you in the darkest sad hour of your lives for his sustaining grace.
