Tiny Simmons, age 86, of Riverton, WV, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at her home. She was born on September 17, 1932, in Cherry Grove, WV, the daughter of the late Leonard and Kate (Bennett) Arbogast. Tiny married Alvin Hinkle, who preceded her in death in 1961 and was then married to William Frankfort “Seymore” Simmons, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2015.
Tiny attended Pendleton County Schools and Big Run Presbyterian Church. She loved her dogs, cats, and birds, and she worked as a dog breeder.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by: 3 daughters, Wilma Hinkle of Riverton, WV, Peggy Hinkle (Russell Thompson) of Riverton, WV, Sherry Cook of Moorefield, WV; a son, Bobby Hinkle of Riverton, WV; 2 brothers, Akie Arbogast of Elkins, WV, Randolph Arbogast of Cherry Grove, WV; and 2 grandchildren, Steven Hinkle and Brittany Cook. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by: a son, Albinus Hinkle; a daughter, Debra Hinkle; 2 brothers, Ronald and Elmer Arbogast; and 3 sisters, Dessie Hedrick, Sylvia Moats, and Bessie Vandevander.
Mrs. Simmon's family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 10-11 AM at Riverton United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Larry Hakes and Pastor Cindi Skinner officiating. Interment will be in the Mallow Cemetery on Bennett Gap in Riverton, WV.
