Mr J P Pearson is among the early settlers and pioneers of this section having resided here since 1838 since which time he has given his time and attention to agricultural pursuits...Mr J O Pearson Jr was born and raised in this county. His early life was spent on the farm until 1868 when he became identified with the present business and has conducted it successfully ever since. Mr Pearson has served as Town and School Trustee, an evidence of esteem and popularity.

Joseph P Pearson died at the home of his son, J O Pearson, in Sheridan, Wednesday, aged 87....the remains were interred at Boxley.
