Zebina Curtis was baptized in Farmington, CT Sept 21, 1760. When he settled in Windsor it was still a part of Cumberland County. He was a leading merchant in Windsor for many years, a man of strong personality and much prominence. He was a Major General of the Militia and Windsor's representative in the Vermont Legislature 1796, 1797, 1798, 1799 and 1815. He married Martha Wait in 1783. She was born Petersham, MA in 1763 the daughter of First Col. Joseph and Martha (Stone) Wait of Brookfield and Petersham, MA, Windsor, VT and Claremont, NH 1773. She was the granddaughter of Zedekiah Stone, Esq.
