PASSES AWAY IN WASHINGTON.
Death of the Widow of the Illustrious Aaron Harding.

Danville, Ky., Jan. 12. -- (Special). -- The Hon. Robert Harding received a telegram to-night announcing the sudden death of his step-mother, Mrs. Sallie Harding, in Washington City. She was seventy-five years of age, and death was due to heart trouble. Her husband, the Hon. Aaron Harding, was among the most illustrious politicians of the Bluegrass in his day. He was repeatedly sent to Congress from this district, and in 1860 became a candidate before the General Assembly for the United States Senate. After passing through the longest deadlock in the history of the State, the legislators finally elected Garret Davis over Mr. Harding by a narrow margin.
The body of Mrs. Harding will be brought to Georgetown for burial. She was a native of Meadville, Pa. Since her husband's death she had been living in Washington.
