Maynard III, Dennis J. (72) of Knoxville, TN went Home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 12, 2016 while surrounded by family. He was of the Baptist faith. Dennis was a proud graduate of Central High School. He was a State Farm agent/business owner for over 45 years from which he recently retired. Dennis served his country in the Navy on the USS Independence from 1963 to 1967. He sought out antiques and vintage automobiles for restoration. Dennis was preceded in death by parents, Dennis J. Maynard Jr. and Rose Maynard Gray; nephew, Christopher Orten; mother-in-law, Rosalie Taylor. He is survived by loving wife, Sherry Maynard; sons, Wayne (Shari) Maynard and Roy Matthews; daughter, Linda Maynard; grandchildren, Austin and Sydney Maynard of Texas; sister, Susan Maynard; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Vickie Houser, Danny and Penny Taylor; several nieces and nephews; 4 grandchildren by love. Family will receive friends Friday, January 15th from 5-7pm at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway. Funeral service to follow at 7 pm with Rev. Keith Elkins officiating. Interment will take place Saturday, January 16th at 11 am at Mt. Olive Cemetery on Maryville Pike. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
