Violet is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Robert Marcus Chaffee (U.S. Navy retired) and survived by her son, Mark Robert and wife, Vivien and their son, Alexander Mark Chaffee of Charlotte, NC.

Violet was of tough Scots-Irish heritage, a polio survivor, a naturalized citizen of the USA, a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine auxiliary, and a proud part of America’s Greatest Generation.

Affectionately called “Vi”, she lived a life of unconditional love, kindness, determination, and thoughtfulness. She had a remarkably positive outlook, generous spirit, and unwavering faith in God. Her uplifting spirit was an inspiration to her family, friends, community, and anyone whoever met her. Vi’s life was defined by caring for and loving others. She found beauty in everything and her enduring faith in God gave her strength and made everyday a blessed adventure.

Vi loved life, living to the fullest everyday and spreading her sunshine to all those around. To know her was a precious gift, and to have been loved by her was a blessing. She was selfless in every aspect of her life. Every soul she touched was changed for the better through her always smiling face, contagious laugh, and congenial presence.
