Funeral will be held Wednesday for Edward O. Gwynn of Novato, chief of the business division of the Marin County assessor's office and a retired Air Force Colonel.

The service for Gwynn - who died Saturday at the age of 67 at a local hospital after a short illness - will be at 2 p.m. in the Novato Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Burial will be at Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.

Gwynn was a native of Woodriver, WY.

He served during World War II in the Eight Air Force's photo reconnaissance division in Europe. He remained in the service after the war, serving 4 years in France as comptroller of the Joint Construction Agency which managed all US military construction in Europe. His final duty was at Hamilton Air Force Base, where he retired from the Air Force in 1957.

The family home is at 620 Sunset Parkway.

On leaving the Air Force, Gwynn joined the Marin Assessor's office and was chief of the business division at the time of his death.

He was a member of the business division at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Marin County Employees Association and the California Assessors and Appraisers Association.

The colonel is survived by his wife, Beulah C. Gwynn; a son, Dr. Robert E. Gwynn of Mill Valley; 2 daughters, Linda Minnick of Novato and Ann L. Adams of Seattle; 2 sisters, Delilah Dickson of Tacoma, and Tennessee Packard of Omaha; and 9 grandchildren.
