Lionel R. Bernard died at his home Thursday morning after a long illness. Mr. Bernard was born in Hartford, son of J. Hector Bernard and the late Alice Rivard Bernard. He was employed in the circulation department of the Hartford Times from Sept. 21, 1936 to Mar. 7, 1953. He was a veteran of service with the 517th Ordnance Company of the Army in World War II going to the Pacific Theatre with his unit. He leaves, besides his father, his wife, Mrs. Antoinette Blouin Bernard, a sister and a brother.
