Mrs. Sarah Rozella Slate Caine, 63, of 6880 Ironwood Circle, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1999, at Moses Cone Hospital.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at the Hayworth-Miller-Cain Chapel, by the Rev. Walter Hedstrom and the Rev. Monte Stetler. Burial will follow in the A-1 Cemetery.
Mrs. Caine was born in Stokes Co., a daughter of Roy M. and Maude Rodgers Slate. She is in Heaven today, after faithfully serving the Lord, since the age of thirteen. She was an employee of Sears & Roebuck for fifteen years. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Ralph Slate of Kernersville.
Though she suffered much from Alzheimer's and Cancer, she was always pleasant and cheerful. Her husband is presently pastoring the Trinity Chapel of Summerfield.
Surviving: Mrs. Caine was the faithful Pastor's wife of the Rev. John R. Caine for forty seven years; the mother of two daughters, Joan M. Stetler and her husband, Dan of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Angela M. Caine of Garland, Texas; a son, Mark C. Caine and his wife, Elizabeth of Winchester, Va.; two sisters, Irene Turner of Gastonia and Ailene Smith of Kernersville. She was the grandmother of Seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, at the funeral home.
