It is with a sad heart that I chronicle the very sudden and unexpected death of Mr. Horace Holdsworth, one of our best known and beloved citizens. While cutting down a tree between Altamont and Tracy City last Friday evening, a falling limb struck him in the breast, killing him instantly. The remains arrived here last Saturday afternoon and he was buried Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at Raulston's graveyard, surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Holdsworth was 48 years of age, a kind and loving father, an affecionate husband, and numbered his friends by the score. He was universally loved and esteemed by all who knew him, and his sudden demise has cast a gloom over our little settlement. It was sad, indeed, for his loving brother, (Mr. N. B. Holdsworth of Fort Wayne, Indiana) who had not seen him for ten years had come on a visit the evening of his death, and was going to take him by surprise. The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathies of all in their sad trouble.
