Delma Gay Dallefeld, 78, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, March 30, 2019 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Graveside: 1 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
Delma was born Aug. 2, 1940 to Jess and Florence Adams Henley on her grandfather's farm in Scurry County.
She attended Hermleigh ISD and graduated in 1958. Delma worked at Perry Brothers and Whitfields Variety Stores and Roscoe State Bank.
She then moved to Midland and went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. It was in Midland that she met a handsome airman who was stationed at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring.
They were married on June 2, 1967 and remained happily married for 50 years.
She continued to work for Southwestern Bell and AT&T in Big Spring, Fayetteville, Ark., Midland, and Odessa until she retired after 30 years of service.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald I. Dallefeld.
Survivors: Daughter, Debra Davidson-Shumaker and husband, John Shumaker of Coppell; favorite granddaughter, Paige Guthrie-Fiveash and husband, Blake Fiveash of Denton; favorite grandson, Austin Davidson of Austin; great-granddaughter, Zoey Grace Fiveash; brother, Jesse Henley and wife, Fran of Abilene; sister, Joy Courtney of Midland; and a large amount of nieces, nephews and cousins.
