Hazel B. Pledger was born July 28, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas to George Otto Bethea and Ethel Shive Bethea.
She entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2019.

She graduated from Klein High School in 1942 and worked as an elementary school secretary in Pasadena, Texas from 1963-1985. Hazel was a longtime member of Southmore Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas. In retirement she became a member of Dorcas Wills Memorial Baptist in Trinity, Texas. She was a past president of the Texas Secretary Association.

She is preceded in death in by her husband Harold C. Pledger; her parents and her 3 sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her 3 daughters: Trish Johnston and husband Ty of Marquez, Texas, Kathy Stewart and husband Mike of Groesbeck, Texas, Terri Anderson and husband Curtis of Pasadena, Texas; 8 grandchildren: Shannon Vessels and husband Joe, Jennifer Espenschied and husband Jim, Misti Stewart, Deah Fisher and husband Chip, Cory Johnston and wife April, Chris Stewart and Caroline, Josh Anderson and wife Stefani, Ashley Taylor and husband Cody; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at 10:00am, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am, on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association in memory of Hazel Pledger.
