Mr. Castle Passes Away.

Theodore O. Castle died at his home in this city at an early hour this morning, of consumption, having been confined to his bed for four weeks.

Theodore O. Castle was born in Fairport, now known at North Elmira, N.Y., December 9th, 1844, his father being pastor of the M E church at the time. The family moved to Michigan and then to Ohio, where Mr. Castle spent his boyhood days and was a student under the late James A. Garfield, at the Western Reserve College, Hiram, Ohio. He enlisted in his country's cause from Ohio in the sixties and served during the war. The deceased has spent all the time since the war in Woodsfield, Ohio, and in this city. He came to El Dorado early in the eighties, was appointed Deputy County Clerk by C P Strong, January 1st, 1883, was reappointed by James Fisher, January 11th, 1886, and was elected County Clerk in 1887, serving four years, from 1888 to 1892. He also served a term as Probate Judge in Woodsfield, Ohio.

The deceased was married to Miss Sadie Driggs, shortly after the war, who died about a year afterwards, leaving a little girl who soon followed her mother. Mr. Castle was married to Miss Abbie Patton in Woodsfield, Ohio, February 18th, 1875. Six children were born, three of whom have died; G Olin, Helen Ada and Olive Matilda and his devoted wife survive him.

Mr. Castle had been an active member of the I O O F and the GAR and was highly respected citizen and neighbor.
