Simeon was the son of Merrill and Orrin Babcock Cooper. He married Annie (Ann) Younie, daughter of Alexander and Isabael Laing Younie in Ormstown on 14 October 1863. They had four children: Isabella Amanda, Merrill Alexander, George Arthur and Frederick. All but Frederick are buried in this cemetery.
