Roy Norman Sanders, 82, of Oaktown, Indiana, born to Charles Sanford and Bernice J. (Weatherholt) Sanders on July 30, 1935, in Princeton, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Oak Village Health Care Center in Oaktown, Indiana.

He retired after 33 years from teaching at Griffin, Oaktown, Bicknell, Petersburg and North Knox High Schools and was a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association. He was the basketball coach at Oaktown High School from 1964-1972. He enjoyed family, fishing and duck hunting.

Surviving are his wife: Dorothy Imogene (Penner) Sanders; daughter: Donna Elaine (Jeffery) Stephens of Wheatland, Indiana; 2 sons: Mark Alan (Jodi) Sanders of Oaktown, Indiana and Michael Wayne (Brenda) Sanders of Oaktown, Indiana; brother: Fred Vernon (Janet) Sanders of Kingsport, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter: Sarah Beth Sanders and a sisters: Sybil Niemann and Ethel Sanders.

Funeral services were private with burial in Bethsaida Cemetery near Stewartsville, Indiana.
