Jerome Hafeman, 81, was welcomed into heaven and the loving arms of his wife on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at home, surrounded by his family.

Jerry was a kind and gentle man. Spending time with his family brought him great joy. Jerry had a great sense of humor. Even in times of adversity, he was able to bring smiles to the faces of people around him.


We know he shares a heavenly home with his wife, Pat and son, Mark, and others who have gone before him.


Jerry loved to golf and bowl. He took many hunting trips with his friends and he especially enjoyed fishing with his good friend, Al. On the Bay he was known as the "Fiesta King". He also took many trips with his wife, her sister, Joanne, and their mother.


Jerry was very proud of his years of service to his country. He served in the Marine Corps and the Navy. The years 1944 to 1946 took him to World War II and in 1950 to 1951 he served in the Korean War. Jerry worked at James River for 40 years and retired in 1988.


Survivors include his children, Steve (Bev) Hafeman, Debbie (Bruce) DuBois, Lynn Wetli, Greg (Paula) Hafeman, Lori (Eddie) Faust, Becky Hafeman, Mike (Melinda) Hafeman, Tracey (Mike) Jadin;

grandchildren and great- grandchildren;

his sisters: Carol Larson and Shirley Abts.


Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at St. Willebrord Catholic Church, on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Harry Hafeman officiating.
