He was a graduate of Glasgow High School and the University of Kentucky.
He retired after working thirty nine years as Customer Service Manager for R. R. Donnelley and Sons in Glasgow, Kentucky.
He was a member of The Avenue Church and for many years served as ministry leader for its benevolence program.
He had been an active member of the Glasgow Kiwanis Club, Jr. Achievement, and was involved many years with Glasgow Little League.
Survivors:
Two sons: Rich Alexander (Tammy) and Matt Alexander (Vickie); five grandchildren: Trey Alexander (Kelsey), Emily Ross (Zac), and Bailey Alexander, Riley Alexander, and Brooklyn Alexander; one sister: Elaine Richardson (Bobby); one brother: Doug Alexander (Jackie); two nephews: Clay Richardson (Lisa) and Will Alexander (Kaleigh); one niece: Ashley Alexander; and many extended family members and friends.
